Jerome is a really neat place. Once a copper mining town and known as "the wickedest town in the west" it has seen many ups and downs.

After Phelps Dodge closed the mine in 1953 the population dwindled to around 100. Then came the hippies and artists who fell in love with the area and it's seclusion.

Little by little it has made a comeback and now many of the original buildings have been restored for use as business and galleries. Sitting on top of Cleopatra Hill at 5,200 feet its a great escape from the valley heat.
